We designed it in a curve to facilitate ease of conversation and to give a friendlier look. The mosaic design is based on the local environment, local Indigenous foods, and local produce. Helen is an artist of long standing eminence, and I was stoked to consult with her on the appropriation of het old mural. Where her lines ended I kept going with images from photos found online of local surf history and some of its' characters. Helen came and painted with me a couple of times.
